HSA Annual College Fair

College fairs may not have fruit juice, sandwiches and chocolates but they can be very informative and even fun. College fairs give the students the chance to talk to admissions officers and get the scoop on everything, from what courses are offered to life on campus.

Fairs can also help them rule out colleges, as well as introduce themselves to new ones.
Most fairs are crowded and college fairs are no different.. So, being prepared for the fair, thinking about the questions that can be asked usually helps the students benefit more.
Horizon Science Academy’s Fourth Annual College Fair was held on November 19th, 2008. We were all excited about this event as the date quickly approached for over 30 colleges to attend. We invited all Ohio Colleges and some colleges outside the state for a total of 26 colleges/ universities. This beautiful event held on our HSA campus proved to be beneficial not only for the seniors but also for the juniors, sophomores and freshmen. Seniors, who are about to choose which college to go to, talked to the representatives of each college giving them a chance to compare them and make a better college decision. Other students who haven’t even thought of college also took time to take a look at the college fair. By visiting the colleges at each table they were able to have a better insight about the requirements for admissions for those schools in hopes to try harder to meet those requirements. College fairs have been very beneficial in getting our students into the best possible colleges. We have no doubt that this year’s fair will be just as successful.
