Internships

APPLICATIONS FOR LERCIP AVAILABLE NOW The Educational Programs Office at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) is accepting applications for the 2009 Lewis' Educational and Research Collaborative Internship Program (LERCIP) for high school students. LERCIP high school is an educational program that provides a summer opportunity for current 10th and 11th grade students interested in careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, mathematics (STEM) and professional administration. The program engages students with an intensive internship experience in a research and development environment while under the guidance of a GRC scientist, engineer, technician, or administrative professional that serves as the student's mentor. The program is designed to expand the student's understanding of possible career choices that are available at NASA. Program activities include oral presentations and a variety of enrichment activities. NASA has just sent HSA the applications for this special program, and students who are interested may get the application forms from the Guidance Office. Completed applications must be received in NASA Educational Programs Office by February 13, 2009, but we recommend HSA students to turn them in Guidance Office at least 2 weeks before the deadline. Students should give special care to completing their application, as the program is very competitive. Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will not be processed and are considered ineligible.
