Objectives

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
 
1)    The school incorporates an integrated curricula organized around global themes to ensure that each student will acquire and apply core concepts and principles from math, science, technology, social studies, language arts, communication, creative arts, vocational, and practical living skills to situations similar to what they will experience in life.
 
2)    Each student will gain an understanding of his/her individual learning style and intelligence, and will develop strategies to adapt these to different situations/tasks.  Each student will develop life-long learning skills including self-assessment, goal-setting, critical thinking, information processing, problem solving, effective communication, collaboration and cooperation, self-discipline, and creative expression.
 
3)    All work at HSA will be undertaken in a manner that supports, embraces, and demonstrates the effectiveness and efficiency of participatory and developmental leadership and coalition building.
 
4)    HSA will promote the importance to the community of conveying to youth a sense of purpose, belonging, and to foster an understanding of the influence these factors can play in the growth and development of these students.
